Sola Scriptura College and Seminary will accept all transfer academic credits earned from other Theological schools.* The Faculty Review Board will also evaluate credits from secular schools, and give academic credit for career-based life/work/ministry experience based on SSCS’s established evaluation method as well as an in-person/phone interview with the candidate. Years of part time work in Christian service will receive credit. Academic credit will not be awarded for any involvement in the music ministry, regardless of previously acquired credentials or numbers of years served
*Note: Your transcripts from schools attended do not have to accompany the application. To be in compliance with federal laws and regulations, SSCS requires that all official transcripts be mailed directly to SSCS Office of the Registrar.
Traditional colleges and accrediting agencies have established the following guidelines for the maximum credit received for life/work/ministry (NOTE Academic credit will not be awarded for any involvement in the music ministry, regardless of previously acquired credentials or numbers of years served):
• Associate Degree 50% or 45 credit hours
• Bachelor Degree 25% or 30 credit hours
• Master Degree 10% or 10 credit hours
• Doctoral Degree 60 academic credit hours required, no l/w/m credits
SSCS accepts transfer credits based on the previously stated evaluation method as well as an in-person/phone interview with the candidate.
Certificates, diplomas, grades, CEU credits and U.S. Military Service are also given consideration. Theological Theses or Doctoral Dissertations – published or unpublished – will be considered for credit based on a thorough evaluation by the Faculty Review Board.
While candidates may have more academic and life experience credits than the minimum required, it is the policy of SSCS that candidates must satisfactorily complete a minimum of one semester (15 credits) to earn the desired degree. All concentration courses must be taken at SSCS; they cannot be transferred from other institutions. The Faculty Review Board will carefully evaluate all applications, and promptly issue a competent, qualified evaluation report
